They never shipped my product. When I called and asked about getting expedited shipping they wanted me to pay for it. Thanks to Mosquito Magnet's incompetence, we had to look for a last-minute solution to keep the mosquitos away from our wedding guests.

I fixed two machines, fuel nozzle is inexpensive oil burner nozzle part. 1.50 gph 45 deg A cone. Confirmed weak coil on fuel valve on the other by placing strong fridge magnet against it. Ordered generic 1/4" solenoid fuel valve, and will just replace the magnet coil part.

Great Machine, guaranteed to break

I've gone through 5 defenders over the last 6 years. They last on average 2-4 years, if you're lucky. I'm done, my last 2 just broke.

Mosquito magnet is a waste of money

Patriot worked for one year, had it repaired under warrenty once. Next year wouldn’t work , out of warrenty. It would cost more to fix than its worth. I lost $400.00 on it. It’s was also expecting maintain as well. Don’t know how they stay in business.

Lowes didn't make the product, why are you blaming them? Your complaint should be with the manufacturer, not the retail store you purchased it at. Have you contacted the manufacturer to see if they are willing to do anything for you as it is the manufacturer that is responsible for any warranty on their products.

Worst Customer Service in the industry

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Purchased the unit from the Canadian supplier. Sent many emails and phoned to see where unit was after days of their website saying it was not picked up by the carrier yet. Absolutely no response, but it eventually showed up on my doorstep. After putting it together I am unable to place the mosquito net in the correct place, when the top was shut the net folded together to the point that an insect couldn't get through the opening. I've emailed customer service on many occasions, called and begged for help, but there in no way they will even as much as give you the time of day, let alone help you through the problem. $777.00 is a lot of money just to end up with a lawn ornament. Product may be good, but if you can't get even the least amount, what good is buying their product?

Buy American. Canada is just as foreign as Mexico only on the other border.

They're happy to send their junk south as a benefit of free trade, but they slap a %250 tariff on American dairy products in Ontario. Screw 'em and God save their queen since they are only a pretend nation under the control of the Limeys we ran out of here at gunpoint.

Not Dependable, expensive repairs

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We purchased Mosquito Magnet Patriot April 2016, lasted a couple months and stopped working after several calls to customer service we wound up mailing it to repairman who basically replaced the entire working mechanism parts to get it to work and mailed it back. It worked two months and was put in storage for the next year. we did get it to work for the summer of 2017 with a lot of restarting and clearing it out and again calls to customer service. Now this summer after it being in storage it won't work at all. We have spent several hours on the phone to customer service and did all they told us to do three times and still won't work. Since the warranty is for only one year they will not extend it even though it has never worked as expected. . In 2017 we purchased a Mosquito Magnet Independence sine the Patriot wouldn't work and so far it is working good, however changing out the net when its full of Mosquito's is very messy and many of them get away. I do not recommend the Mosquito Magnet , very frustrating while being eaten up by Mosquitoes.

I recently bought a used patriot mosquito magnet from a private seller. When I got home and set it up I realized they gave me the wrong controller.

The machine has a round connection but the plug is square. I understand this separates newer and older models.

My question is this; is there any reason I cannot splice the power cable permanently into the machine? Both machines are 12v.

Good product when it works. Two problematic units. After sales support lacking

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I bought a Mosquito Magnet Professional unit for just under $1,000 in hopes to reduce the swarms of mosquitoes that inhabit our yard each summer in Maine. The original unit caught mosquitoes like gangbusters. I could not believe how many of the critters were stuffed in the net only after a short time of operation! Truly amazing. There was one problem however, there is a solar charger on the unit that is supposed to make it "cordless". However, the battery would constantly discharge so I needed to keep it plugged in to work. At the end of the first season, I returned it for repair. I received a "new" unit back but I could immediately tell that it was a slightly different unit. (not the one that I originally shipped). The following summer I fired it up with a new tank of propane. After a week or two following the arrival of the swarm, I checked the net. I could count a few skeeters there but absolutely NOTHING like the performance of the original unit. I completed the troubleshooting tips recommended by the manufacturer. (new tank of propane, new attractant cartridge, used a cleaning/purge canister, changed location). Still no performance. I went through two tanks of propane with very little to show for it. I put the unit in the shelf in the garage and gave up. After regretting paying close to a grand for a shelf fixture, I recently decided to contact the manufacturer to try to repair it or get credit for trade in on a new one. Found out that they dont offer repairs. The repairs are handled by an external service provider. I tried calling and just get an answering machine. Left my contact info but never got a call back. Contacted customer service again and am waiting on a reply. I have a feeling this unit will probably end up in the dump. Its a shame, it worked really well. Too bad the reliability or service isnt there. Therefore, I can NOT recommend mosquito magnet

Misquito Maget Sucks Dirt

Originally purchased July 29, 2016 it worked fine for one tank about a month then quit. After going through customer care and clearing out system using quick clear cartage (used all I had) it was determined needed sent back for repair, Sent back for repair on Sept 20, 2016.

It was recorded as received yet several months later not repaired or returned. I talked to representative of misquito Magnet. Kim she spent better part of a week trying find the repaired machine but could not find mine. She ended up sending me a new Independence.

Which worked one tank of gas then stopped working again. I paid $640.94 on July 7 - Worked one tank of gas then quit, sent back to company lost my MM.

Sent me a new one which like to first one quit working after a month. Would like my money back at this point.

Mosquito Magnet dId not catch mosquitos at all and then after a year stopped working

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We live in northern Va and tried very hard to get the mosquito magnet to work. I moved it around the yard, I religiously changed all the parts every 3 weeks, and was so looking forward to this helping with our mosquitos. We get bit all summer long when we do not spray on DEET. Alas the mosquito magnet did not work at all. I do not think I saw one mosquito in the trap but they were sure in our yard...Then after 1 year it just stopped working period. To fix it is $110 which I would happily do if it worked. DO not buy this product, it was such a disappointment.

Best and Worst Product Ever Created

I have owned 3 now. They work better than anything and are awesome but....

They have all broke. I got the first one fixed after it broke 4 or 5 months after the warranty ran out. It cost me 350 to buy it originally and 250 to get it fixed. The issue on all the machines I have purchased is the ignitor.

It is a horrible design and they even say don't bump into it or it may fail. I was told the second time it broke that maybe a deer bumped into it and caused it to fail.

If the ignitor is so fragile, how about redesigning it. Unless they increase the warranty to 2 years, I will never buy another one.

Works for 1 year. Maybe 2.

I've gone through 2 Mosquito Magnets. When they are working, they are very effective. The problem is that after a season or 2 (3 if you are extremely fortunate), the red light starts to blink (usually in the beginning of the season), which indicates that they are malfunctioning. Both times I ran several CO2 cartridges thru the line as instructed. Ultimately, both units had to be disposed of. If you can justify the $300 cost for 2 seasons, this unit is for you. If you expecting to get more than that, look for another brand. After extensive research, bottom line, Mosquito Magnet is an inferior design. If you read further reviews, you'll see that this is a common issue.

Horrible product and worse customer service

This is an expensive product that does nothing but use propane!! I called customer service twice and on both occasions got nothing but lip service and no legitimate help.

The battery stopped working after 3 months. The charger indicated it was fully charged but it would not power the product. When I called customer service they wanted me to bring it to Radio Shack to have its voltage measured...I spent $700 on this product...send me a new battery!!!

So far this machine has eliminated approximately 80 mosquitoes this season...that's $10 a bug. Do not waste your money...a can of bug spray will do more than this product!!!

No parts available to consumer

This company is licensed to steal. Simple little ten cent part....they refuse to sell it. Make you return the unit to one of their "Licensed Service Centers" for a "tune up." Cost: $300.00 plus shipping. I don't need a tune-up....I need a ten cent part. Reported them to the BBB. No response. As the previous posters mention, no customer service/support either. Wait on the phone thirty minutes then hear some kid from India give you the bad news. Don't know how they stay in business. Hopefully all of these truthful, bad reviews will at least inform the public what they're in for....a good reaming. Save your money folks. Avoid Mosquito Magnet like the plague.
